I'm walking for the planet. I just protected a parking-spot size area of the rainforest for one year with Srtiiv! It's called a "smart" pedometer, but does way more than count your steps. I love this little gadget. There is a sim-style game loaded that is kind of fun, and corporate sponsors donate to one of three organizations (you choose) - Save the Rainforest, Stamp Out Polio, or Clean Water (give clean water to a child for a day) as you earn "energy" by moving throughout you day. All at no cost to you, and no monthly fees. Just when you're ready to relax, or actually - whenever you ask it - it will throw a challenge at you. Things like do 20 steps in 5 minutes, or walk 150 steps in 5 minutes, or have a 2 minute "dance party". Those are easy, even for ME, but you select the challenge level you feel like doing at the time. When you complete it, a tiny crowd inside this little gadget claps and cheers! Very motivating!
The time has come . . .
Ok - I've said it. It's out there in writing. As of May 21, 2012, I am flimsy-paper-card-carrying-member of Weight Watchers! And you know what? So far, I LOVE IT! That may be the nerdy, techie girl in me speaking, but the electronic tracking got me. Sucked me in and is keeping me there. Is that all it took? Had I only known sooner. Will it last?
I hope so! Come with me and see!

Ok, that looks pretty cool. I officially have gadget envy now! LOL
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for new tech toys! But I have to say - I really love this thing. Just when I'm ready to get into bed, it challenges me to have a "2 minute dance party". I fall for it every time.
